Dr. David Gulley was born in Dallas, Texas, but in his early childhood moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Microbiology. He then went on to complete his medical doctorate degree at UT College of Medicine in Memphis.
Following his medical education, Dr. Gulley completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University. He then served as an academic hospitalist at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital while conducting clinical research. While completing his gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia, he developed a clinical interest in gallbladder and bile duct disorders, cirrhosis and liver disorders, and colon cancer prevention.
Dr. Gulley currently serves as a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American Gastroenterological Association. He is board certified in both internal medicine and his primary specialty: gastroenterology.
Dr. Gulley is married to McKenzie Gulley, who is a channel marketing manager for Michelin North America in Greenville. In Dr. Gulley’s spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, bike riding, and swimming, as well as traveling and reading.
