Dr. Palma is originally from Syracuse, New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Wheaton College in Illinois and returned to Syracuse to attend SUNY Upstate Medical University where he graduated in 2004. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, then completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Florida.
Dr. Palma is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Greenville County Medical Society, South Carolina Gastroenterological Association, and South Carolina Medical Association.
For Dr. Palma, it is an honor to care for his patients, and he aims to treat them as he would members of his own family. His clinical interests include pancreatic disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer prevention, and Barrett’s esophagus, as well as preforming procedures such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF).
When Dr. Palma is not working, he enjoys fly fishing, snowboarding, and continually improving his Italian, Spanish, and Swahili. También, él disfruta la oportunidad de comunicarse en español con los pacientes que asà lo deseen.
