Dr. Sunkavalli is a board-certified gastroenterologist with over 10 years of experience in the field. He graduated from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College in India and completed his medical training in the United States, including an Internal Medicine Residency, Chief Medical Resident, and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University at Buffalo. He was working as a gastroenterologist at Prisma Health in Greenville before joining Gastroenterology Associates in 2023.
His clinical interests include managing esophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, swallowing disorders, and performing procedures such as Per-Oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF) as well as removal of large colon polyps. He is committed to providing high-quality and cost-effective care to his patients and has a patient-centered philosophy.
Dr. Sunkavalli is a member of the American Foregut Society. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, biking, and playing volleyball.
