A Message From Dr. Rickoff

Gastroenterology Associates would like to wish Dr. Rickoff a happy and healthy retirement. Thank you for 39 years of dedicated and loyal service to us and your patients!

Dear Valued Patient,

Due to recurrent back issues for which surgery will be necessary (as well as the fact that I will shortly be 70 years old), I am sorry to inform you of my retirement this year, effective December 31st, 2023. Although this was not my original plan, “father time”, as they say, always wins.

I am writing this letter to let you know that it has been a privilege participating in your care. Since I have been practicing for more than 39 years, I have seen many of you for a long period of time. These physician-patient relationships have been very special and have brought me great fulfillment. I cherish these relationships and will dearly miss seeing you.

In the future, I feel very confident in my partners’ abilities to take care of your gastrointestinal needs; you really are in excellent hands at Gastroenterology Associates. Should, however, you decide to go elsewhere for your care, we will do whatever we can to assist you.

To ensure your transition of care is as smooth as possible, here is a list of options for you to consider:

1. Remain with Gastroenterology Associates and transition your care to another provider with Gastroenterology Associates. We have three new additions to our physician team. Dr. Abdehou, Dr. Horton, and Dr. Vitorsky are all accepting new patients and would be glad to care for you.
2. Transfer care to another gastroenterology practice outside Gastroenterology Associates. If you wish to transfer your care to a different practice, we will do our best to make that process as seamless as possible for you. A copy of your medical records can be sent directly to your new practice or released directly to you, upon request. Visit www.gastroassociates.com to complete a medical records release.
