Adenoma Detection Rate Found Lower in Surgeons than Gastroenterologist

In a recent VA Health System study, it was found that gastroenterologists are more likely to detect adenomas than a general surgeon. The adenoma detection rate (ADR) for gastroenterologists was 53% versus a general surgeon which was 41%. Detecting adenomas during a colonoscopy can save lives.
