This program is designed to give patients an integrated plan that addresses both their metabolic health and their digestive health, since the two are closely connected.
Reaching and maintaining a healthier weight is easier with a care team that knows your full digestive and metabolic health history. Our Metabolic Health Management Program pairs Greenville-area patients with an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) from our MHM team for a personalized, medically supervised evaluation — including GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist medication management (such as Ozempic or Wegovy) when appropriate, nutrition guidance, and ongoing follow-up. Your care is overseen by a supervising physician who works closely with your APP to guide your treatment plan.
Because our team is board-certified in gastroenterology, we’re also positioned to manage the digestive side effects — nausea, constipation, reflux — that most commonly cause patients to stop these medications elsewhere, and to co-manage related conditions like fatty liver disease under one program.
If you’re struggling with your weight, you’re not alone. Many people live with medical conditions that affect weight and benefit from a structured, medically supervised program. Common weight-related conditions include:
Weight loss medication is generally considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher with a weight-related health condition. Your provider will confirm whether your a candidate during your evaluation.

Specific to Your Appointment
No. This program does not require a referral from another provider.
Depending on your evaluation, your provider may recommend GLP-1 receptor agonist or GIP/GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic or Wegovy, alongside nutrition and lifestyle support. Not every patient is a candidate for medication, and your provider will discuss the best option for you.
Coverage varies by plan. Our team verifies your specific benefits before you begin treatment.
Your care is physician-supervised and integrated with your full digestive and metabolic health history — not just a prescription. This matters most if you experience GI side effects during treatment, which our team is specifically trained to manage.
You’ll be paired with an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) from our Metabolic Health Management team, with a supervising physician overseeing your treatment plan.
