No. GI Genius is intended to be used as an accessory to colonoscopy procedures and is not intended to replace the doctor’s evaluation or biopsy results. The gastroenterologist still makes the final call as to whether a flagged area is actually a polyp and, if so, whether to remove it during the procedure.
If you have had a colonoscopy in the past, the process will be exactly the same. There are no changes in the prep, procedure, or recovery time. The only difference is that your physician has an added layer of AI-assisted visual support during the exam.
